I HATE Mozzies...

It's a mosquito's fault that this guy is doing a lot of this...

... and this blog has been more than a little bit quiet as a result.

Some of you are aware that Brett was diagnosed with Ross River Virus, after what we thought was a mere viral bug (or "man-flu" as I so kindly named it) didn't go away!!! He is coming up to his 7th week off work. I have never ever seen him so sick. He's not a good patient, nor is he a sook, but this horrible bug, the result of one freaking little mosquito, has absolutely knocked him to the ground. I hate Mozzies!!!

For those of you who haven't come across this lovely disease (and you are LUCKY), it is horribly debilitating. Brett has spent the majority of the past month and a half in bed. For the first month he really only got out of bed to go to the doctors and pee!!! He has really bad joint and muscular pain, and his knees in particular have been bad. The other main symptom is lethargy. He is on the mend, but we have been warned that it can (and usually does) recur, and that he needs to take it easy. He is hoping to return to work on light duties towards the end of next week. Luckily (I guess) someone else on his crew at work has had/still has RR and his boss knows the seriousness of it.

So that is why we have been missing in action, and why I have been slow to respond to your emails, phonecalls and messages. SORRY!! I have a new found respect for all those mums who are doing this parenting thing alone - I don't know how you do it. I am completely knackered!!!

Anyway, enough of the "poor me"... I'm hoping to catch up on the blogging with some new pics over the weekend, as we seem to be emerging from the worst of it!! Thank god!!

Oh, and do yourselves a favour, cover yourself in mozzie repellent - as we have found out it only takes one bite!!
