Freya @ 4 weeks

Well we survived the first 4 weeks. After waiting so long to meet this little poppet, it is all going waaaay to fast. I am trying to cherish every single moment as with her arrival our family is now most definitely complete.

Freya is a delight, and has fitted in perfectly to our little family. She is feeding well (Yay!!!!) and giving us some sleep. Charlotte and Lucas are enamoured with her. Charlotte is fabulous with her and has managed to get her to sleep a couple of times when she has been holding her. Lucas can be a little heavy handed. He longs to pick her up ("I do it!!!"), but seems to be content with supervised cuddles. We do need to watch him, as when he has had enough he has a tendency to discard her by pushing her off his lap!

We have stayed pretty close to home in Freya's first few weeks. Unfortunately Brett went back to work about a week ago, and we are missing him, big time! The school runs in the morning and afternoon are the hardest bit as Freya is often asleep, but she is at a stage where I can still just transfer from bed to car to sling to car to bed!

She is beginning to lose her hair, just like Charlotte did at this age. Her eyes are a dark smokey grey, but I think they will end up like Charlotte's and mine - a hazel green colour.

And some photos of the little poppet...

Uncle Morg makes a flying visit...

Morg came for a quick visit over the long weekend here in June. It was so great to see him, and wonderful that he got the chance to meet little Freya. We had a particularly rough weekend with her, with little sleep for any of us. Sorry Morg!!

Freya's First bath....

Whilst Nonna and Pa were here, Freya braved her first bath. It had/has been freezing here in Perth, so we had delayed the experience for quite a while. So here she is at 12 days old having her first splash...

Nonna and Pa visit...

Dad and Marjie came for a visit, arriving when Freya was just 8 days old. It was lovely to spend a few days just hanging out at home, eating and drinking (not me unfortunately) and catching up. I managed to snap some shots of Nonna and Pa with the little princess...

*sigh* some amazing photos of Freya...

I have a gorgeous friend Kerri, who is a wonderful photographer. I asked her to capture Freya and these are the amazing results....
Kerri usually takes newborn photos when the little ones are 5-10 days old and they do little but sleep. These were taken when Freya was 2.5 weeks, so we struggled a bit keeping her asleep long enough to pose her. But I am thrilled with how the "awake" photos turned out....Kerri snuck these couple in of me whilst I was trying to settle Freya. Unbrushed hair and all, I love the first one so much...

9 days old....

My dear friend Emma sent this beautifully knitted vest and beanie for Freya. I was completely overwhelmed when I received it. It suits her perfectly....

These two clowns...

Early in week 2 we had a visit from our wonderful friends Merrin and Mark. The boys decided to partake in a beer and a cigar to wet the baby's head. I don't think they realise just how ridiculous they looked. They stood out the back for a good hour, and still only managed to get through about half of the god awful, smelly things! The remnants are in the fridge, ready for their next catch up.

Some more Freya pics...

I will try and write a bit of an update when I can but in the mean time here are some photos from Freya's first few weeks....
4 days old...WIth big brother Lucas... And super proud big sister Charlotte...
And with two tired parents...
